Huihuang CDN Review: Multi-Node Speed Tests with Chahu — Is This CDN Actually Reliable?

Chahu Speed Test (chahu.com) has recently received quite a few questions from site owners: How is Huihuang CDN? Can Huihuang CDN be used? With so many people asking, we simply put Huihuang CDN into a real environment and ran a full round of tests. The subject of this review is Huihuang CDN. All data comes from Chahu Speed Test multi-node probing. We are not saying good things for Huihuang CDN, nor are we deliberately nitpicking.

1. Who is Huihuang CDN?

Huihuang CDN is a domestic CDN service provider. Its main business is content delivery networks, meaning it helps websites, apps, live streaming, and games push content to nodes closer to users. According to public information, Huihuang CDN covers the three major carriers and mainstream smaller and mid-sized carriers, and it also has overseas nodes. Its customers are concentrated in gaming, live streaming, e-commerce, and online education. It is not the kind of CDN company that makes headlines every day, but among some technical leads, Huihuang CDN's reputation is "stable."

2. How does Chahu Speed Test test Huihuang CDN?

We took three test domains, all connected to Huihuang CDN. The test nodes came from more than 200 probe points across the country on Chahu Speed Test. We selected 20 each from China Telecom, China Unicom, and China Mobile, plus three overseas points in Hong Kong, Singapore, and Bangkok. The test period was from August to September 2026. What we tested was not complicated: time to first byte, download speed stability, cross-network latency, origin failover, and DNS scheduling accuracy. Evening peak was the focus, because CDNs usually do not show their true quality during normal hours; only the evening peak reveals the real picture.

3. Huihuang CDN nodes and scheduling: solid in core cities, room to grow at the edge

Huihuang CDN's resolution results in first- and second-tier cities are basically reachable within 50 ms. Telecom users are routed to Telecom nodes, and Unicom users are routed to Unicom nodes. Cross-network scheduling accuracy is good, and there was no large-scale situation of "Telecom users being thrown onto Unicom." Overseas, the Hong Kong node is 30-50 ms, and Singapore is 80-120 ms. This level is fairly ordinary and sufficient for Southeast Asia. If we had to find fault, Huihuang CDN's edge node density in third- and fourth-tier cities is not as high as that of top-tier CDNs, and occasionally the nearest node is not the optimal one. But in core cities and on major carrier routes, Huihuang CDN is solid.

4. Huihuang CDN speed test: it did not collapse at evening peak, and that is the value

During the morning peak from 9 to 10 a.m., Huihuang CDN's median TTFB was 38 ms. During the evening peak from 8 to 10 p.m., the median was 45 ms. The fluctuation was not large, and there was no collective deterioration during evening peak. A few southwest nodes occasionally jumped above 80 ms during evening peak. That is not serious, but it shows there is still room to improve edge capacity. In terms of download speed, a 5 MB file was tested 100 times in a row. Huihuang CDN's speed standard deviation was relatively small, and its caching strategy was stable, so it was not fast one time and slow the next. For live streaming and video-on-demand, this kind of stability is worth more than peak speed.

5. Huihuang CDN cross-network performance: no "cross-network collapse"

Cross-network latency is the Achilles' heel of many CDNs. We tested Telecom to Unicom and Mobile to Telecom. Huihuang CDN's cross-network latency was 15-25 ms higher than same-network latency, and it did not double directly across networks. This shows that Huihuang CDN's scheduling system recognizes and optimizes carrier routes, rather than simply throwing traffic to the nearest node.

6. Huihuang CDN failover: 15-25 seconds, not top-tier but sufficient

CDNs usually do not reveal much during normal operation; only failures show their true quality. During evening peak, we manually made the origin return 502 and observed Huihuang CDN's response. Huihuang CDN's average time to switch to the backup origin was 15-25 seconds. Top-tier CDNs can do 5-10 seconds, while small and mid-sized CDNs may take more than 60 seconds or even fail to switch. Huihuang CDN's speed is above average, and users can recover access within half a minute, without causing large-scale, long-term outages. The console also has origin health check configuration, allowing custom check intervals and failure thresholds. This shows that Huihuang CDN has put effort into this inconspicuous but critical feature.

7. Huihuang CDN resistance to traffic spikes: it can handle them, but do not expect unlimited capacity

We increased request volume to 10 times the daily level within 5 minutes. Huihuang CDN's response time did not deteriorate noticeably, and the cache hit rate remained above 90%. For medium-scale spikes, Huihuang CDN has headroom. But we did not perform T-level or higher stress testing. If the business is at the level of a Spring Festival Gala or Double 11, whether Huihuang CDN has sufficient bandwidth reserves and elastic scaling needs to be assessed with Huihuang CDN's technical team before signing. Judging from node scale and architecture, Huihuang CDN is more suitable for medium-scale, growth-stage businesses, not for super-traffic scenarios that peak from day one.

8. Huihuang CDN console: not flashy, but operations can get work done

Huihuang CDN's console covers domain management, cache purge, origin configuration, access logs, and real-time monitoring. The interface is not stunning, but there are no user-hostile interactions. Real-time monitoring can show request volume by region, hit rate, and bandwidth curves. Data refresh latency is 1-2 minutes, which is sufficient for daily operations.

9. Chahu Speed Test's final evaluation of Huihuang CDN

Huihuang CDN is not the CDN with the most explosive specs, nor the CDN with the most nodes. But based on this round of real testing by Chahu Speed Test, Huihuang CDN performs solidly in stability, scheduling accuracy, and failure response. If your business values "not dropping the ball" more than "extreme performance," Huihuang CDN is worth putting on the candidate list. If your business needs 200+ global nodes, T-level bandwidth reserves, and millisecond-level failover, Huihuang CDN may not be in the first tier. If your business volume is medium to medium-large, your budget is limited, but you require stability, Huihuang CDN is worth serious consideration.
