How to Sign Up for Cloudflare: A Step-by-Step Guide

Many people may be hearing the name Cloudflare for the first time, or feel it has nothing to do with them. But I have to say, you are seriously underestimating Cloudflare's value in the world of the internet—people even call it the "Cyber Bodhisattva."

That's because it's no longer just a simple CDN or website acceleration service. In the future, you can absolutely think of it as your own set of infrastructure in the internet world—from domains and DNS, to website deployment, server hosting, global access, website performance testing, security protection, and even code execution, databases, file storage, and data queries—all of it can be done within this one system.

Put it this way: all the pages of my [Bitcoin Hoarding] main site are hosted on Cloudflare, and the code is on GitHub (I'll cover that separately later).

In the past, if we wanted to build a website, we might have needed to buy our own server, configure the environment, deploy code, set up a domain, apply for certificates, and also consider access speeds in different regions and server security. Now, a lot of this can be directly integrated by an infrastructure platform like Cloudflare.

More importantly, it's all free, and in terms of experience, it's not inferior at all to domestic cloud services that cost hundreds or thousands a year—services where you also have to put up with all kinds of restrictions from domestic cloud providers.

Right now you might think it's just an unfamiliar overseas internet company, but once you really start tinkering with your own internet life, you'll find that it's likely to become a name you see all the time.

I even think that in terms of its value in the internet world, it's like WeChat is for us Chinese—you find the URL yourself, and if you know how to spell Baidu's URL, then cloudflare will autocomplete for you too.

After opening the official website, find the Login spot and click in. Don't worry—we'll switch it to Simplified Chinese in a moment.

Then click Sign up, which means register. After clicking, you'll be redirected to the registration page. If you have a Google account, a GitHub account, or an Apple account, you can log in directly with any of those three. If not, move on to the next step.

Enter your email—a domestic QQ Mail or similar is fine. Make your password as complex as possible: 8 characters, with numbers, letters, and special symbols.

Below there's also a verification section. Click to confirm the verification, and once it succeeds, click [Sign up].

Special reminder: If registration fails or gets stuck for a long time, try switching your connection. This is mostly caused by an unsafe network environment or by Cloudflare's system risk control. I myself turned off WiFi and successfully registered using mobile data on a domestic network.

Afterward, you'll receive an email like this in your inbox. Click [Verify your email]. If you're using something like a QQ Mail client, I suggest that after clicking, you choose to open it in your phone's browser from the top-right corner of the page.

Please make sure to complete this yourself. If you can't, there's nothing I can do.

After successful registration, log in with your email and password. Once logged in, go to the avatar in the top-right corner - Language - select Simplified Chinese.

Congratulations—the first step of the long march is complete. Welcome to Cloudflare.

Also, a little bonus: if you have the means, be sure to get a foreign currency credit card—the kind that can be used to pay in US dollars or other international currencies. Most banks can process these online, and definitely get one with no annual fee. That's enough.
