Internal and External Link Analyzer

Example: The target page is fetched once. Linked URLs are not requested and results are not saved.

Internal and external link results

No analysis started

Enter a page URL to review link distribution, anchor text and attributes.

LINK ANALYSIS

Link analysis reads anchor elements in the page HTML, separates same-host internal links from other-host external links, and reviews anchor text and rel attributes.

This tool analyzes structure without visiting each destination. Use the broken link checker when you need to verify whether targets respond.

Internal structure

Count internal links and unique targets to review discovery paths.

Anchor quality

Find empty names and labels that lose meaning out of context.

Link attributes

See where nofollow, sponsored and ugc are actually used.

Internal links help crawlers discover pages and understand topic relationships, while external links add context and sources. Weak anchor text, misused attributes and repeated targets reduce navigation quality.

Improve content discovery

Confirm important pages have clear entry points from related content.

Strengthen context

Use descriptive anchors without forcing or repeating keywords.

Label external relationships

Apply sponsored, ugc and nofollow only in appropriate cases.

The server safely fetches the target page once, extracts up to 300 links from the same HTML and performs deduplication, classification and issue checks in the browser.

  1. 01

    Fetch the page once

Validate the public URL and read the final HTML.

  2. 02

    Parse actual links

Extract href, anchor text and rel attributes.

  3. 03

    Classify and deduplicate

Summarize internal, external and unique targets.

  4. 04

    Find improvements

Show empty anchors, invalid targets and attribute use.

Links should serve navigation first and help crawlers understand genuine page relationships. Relevance and clarity matter more than raw quantity.

01

Link to related content

Add internal paths when users need deeper context; avoid mechanical template link piles.

02

Describe the destination

Anchor text should still provide a useful clue when read outside its sentence.

03

Use rel attributes intentionally

Use sponsored for paid links, ugc for user content and nofollow where endorsement is not appropriate.

04

Reduce repetition and hops

Avoid repeated links in small areas and point directly to the final HTTPS URL where possible.

How many internal links should a page have?+

There is no universal ideal. Add links that help users and fit the context, while ensuring important pages have reasonable discovery paths.

Should every external link use nofollow?+

No. Natural citations to trusted sources can remain standard links. Use sponsored for paid relationships and nofollow when you cannot endorse a target.

Why is an image link shown as an empty anchor?+

Image links need an accessible name from image Alt text or an aria-label. If the HTML provides no readable name, the link needs review.

Does this tool check for 404 responses?+

No. It fetches only the current page and analyzes structure. Use the broken link checker for destination status.
